Always preach the gospel. Use words when necessary.

Thanks to Phil B. for teaching me St. Francis' wisdom of helping others by living the example of Christ, not by using an evangelical bludgeon. Words are imperfect, they differentiate meaning rather than create harmony, and worse, can ostracize well-meaning people who may disagree with another person's explicit interpretation of spirituality.
